Individual Recovery Coaching

You've Built a Foundation in Recovery. What Do You Want Your Life to Become?

You've done the work of stopping or managing an addiction. Life is more stable than it was. Now a different question is showing up. What comes next?

Individual coaching is for people who have established a foundation in recovery and want to build a life that feels like their own.

Recovery Can Become More Than Managing What You Don't Want

Once addiction is no longer running your life, new questions often come up. They are quieter than the questions early recovery asked, and they don't always have simple answers.

Now that I am in recovery, how do I want to live my life?

How do I stop doing what I don't want to do?

How do I stop beating myself up?

What do I do with all this fear?

Why do I feel like an imposter?

How can I learn to trust myself?

These questions can be a sign that you're ready for the next layer of recovery.

The Three Layers of Recovery

Recovery often needs to happen through three layers. Each addresses a different part of the process.

LAYER 1

Recovery from the addictive pattern and its impact.

LAYER 2

Recovery from what the addiction was helping you manage.

LAYER 3

Recovery of who you are.

Layer One is where most recovery starts. It means stopping or managing the addictive pattern and dealing with its impact.

Layer Two addresses what the addiction had been helping you manage. Shame, fear, anxiety, loneliness and self-doubt don't always go away when the drinking or the behavior stops.

Layer Three is the recovery of who you are. As you address Layer Two and recover more of yourself, a different kind of life becomes possible. A life that is:

Fulfilling. Intentional. True.

I call that your FIT Life.

Start With the Life You Want

FIT = Fulfilling. Intentional. True.

Our work together starts with your FIT Life Vision. It's a clear picture of the life you want to create in your relationships, your work, your health, and how you spend your time.

The vision gives the coaching its direction. Each session is organized around moving toward that life.

Individual Coaching Is Designed for People Who Already Have a Foundation in Recovery

At least one year in recovery

This coaching is for people who have already established meaningful recovery. You're no longer mainly looking for help stopping an addiction. You want to know what comes next, and you're ready to work on it.

Let's Talk About What's Possible

I currently have room for two individual recovery coaching clients.

The first step is a complimentary 30-minute conversation. We'll talk about where you are in your recovery, what you want your life to become, and whether individual coaching is a good fit. There's no obligation.

About Bill Tierney

I'm Bill Tierney, Founder of Three Deep Recovery. I have been sober from alcohol since 1982, but my recovery did not stop with sobriety.

Over time, I discovered that getting control of addiction was not the same as freedom. I needed to understand what addiction had helped me manage, and to recover the authentic self that fear, shame, vigilance, and survival strategies had covered. Three Deep Recovery grew out of that lived path and my work as a coach.

Today I work with people who have built a foundation in recovery and want to create a life that is Fulfilling, Intentional, and True.
